Good Luck, Kid

Last week, Christian's class made cards for the 5th grade class to wish them good luck on their FCAT tests. Well, Christian's kindergarten class has their SAT10 test tomorrow, so the fifth graders returned the favor.

Pretty much says it all.

Yea, kid... good luck.

She'll do great on the SAT 10. Tell her not to sweat it!

He's not worried about it at all. He does really well in school and today is like any other day! But thanks!

I just got a kick out of the fifth grader and the "kid" word.

Oh, my bad! How'd it go for him today?

I hated administering the SAT 10 last year to my 2nd graders. As a teacher, so much rides how your students perform on standardized testing. I always dreaded getting my DIBBLES and SAT 10 results. I felt terrible when any of my kids didn't do well. But, alas, there's only so much a teacher can do.

I truly believe a student's success in school is directly related to how involved their parents are in their education. It's a proven fact and I wish more parents would simply take the time communicate with their child's teacher, sit down to help their kids with homework, disucss their day at school and have their child read every night. Just by doing those 4 simple things, parents can help their children achieve success in public school.

He said he had a great time on the test, so I'm assuming he did good. He's a really good student and in the top of his class. We started good homework habits with him right away and he really enjoys learning. We're lucky he has a really great teacher who sincerely loves her job and her students.

He reads EVERYTHING in sight. I think he'll do well.

Glad to hear that it went well for him. It's wonderful that he demonstrates a love for books!

Are you familar with On The Night You Were Born by Vanessa Tillman? It's a very heart warming story that I've been reading to Ruby lately...
